To bring some light relief in these tough times, we’ve rounded up some of the ways to achieve the ultimate Sunderland themed self-isolation.
5. Order from a local business
Many local businesses have had to close in line with Government advice, but those offering essential items such as food for takeout can remain open. Sunderland institution Müller Swiss Bakery have had to close their Blandford Street store, but their Sea Road and Villette Road stores remain open, with one customer allowed in at a time. They will also take orders for collection on 0191 567 1429 - so you can stock up on its frog cakes! See our website for more local businesses doing takeout and delivery at the minute. There's not long to wait for the second series of Sunderland ‘Til I Die, which has returned to the streaming service for its second outing. Filmed over 15 months, the new series will focus on new owner Stewart Donald and executive director Charlie Methven as they attempt to haul the Black Cats out of English football’s third tier. The behind-the-scenes documentary will feature a look at the inner workings of the club – from the board members to the admin staff – as well as keeping a close eye on the players and long-suffering fans.
