Seven places in and near Sunderland where you can buy a real Christmas tree
Deck the halls, the festive season is upon us.
Every year, debates are rife about when is the right time to put up your decorations – and even the Covid crisis hasn’t changed that.
Some us have a trusty old fake tree we get out every year. Others will only accept a real one.
If only the genuine article will do, here are seven places nearby you can find one.

1. Elm Tree Farm Garden Nursery and Tea Room, Washington
The farm remains open to the public with precautions in place, so people can visit and choose their trees. It also offers deliveries. Visit it on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/ElmTreeFarmGardenNursery/ Photo: Pixabay

2. Scotts House Farm, Newcastle Road
The West Boldon seasonal farm shop has more than 20 years behind it and offers pine, Nordmann, spruce, Fraser fir, and potted trees, as well as fresh wreaths. Find it on Newcastle Road, or search for 'scott's house farm west boldon' on Facebook. Pictured, Colin Haynes of Scotts House Farm, in 2019. Photo: Stu Norton
