We can publish more of the film footage from 1983 which was shared with us by Joe and Keith Liddle.

Joe, 78, took these scenes as he went on a drive round Sunderland in 1983 and he shared them with his brother Keith, 63, who kindly forwarded the footage to the Sunderland Echo.

Now we can bring you more of the video which also shows BHS and Burtons.

Keith explained that his father used to live in Sunderland and worked at Doxfords shipyard but left Wearside in 1954 to work as a riveter in a Beverley shipyard on minesweepers.
