No airshow for Sunderland this year - but were you pictured at the event in years gone by?

There will be no Sunderland Airshow this year – so how about some retro reminders of the event from previous years?

We have got 15 great photos of people having a whale of a time at the airshow in years gone by. Are you in the picture?

It comes after 2020 became the first time in 32 years that the event was cancelled, following the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic.

But at least we can raise the spirits with memories of former shows.
