Why not refresh your memory and join us on a drive through the area which was filmed at the time on cine camera.

It shows Fordfield Road, the Good Shepherd church, a nursery and street scenes as well.

Joe, 78, took these scenes as he went on a drive round Sunderland in 1983 and he shared them with his brother Keith, 63, who kindly forwarded the footage to the Sunderland Echo.

This is the latest in a series of films we have featured. Did you see our clip of Joplings, Binns, Joseph’s, and Books Fashions?

Or how about the section which showed Vaux and Littlewoods.
