The tips include keeping active, taking control and staying relaxed and Sue Thompson, Slimming World District Manager for Durham and Wearside is keen to ensure encourage residents continue to look after their mental and physical health during the latest restrictions.

She said: “Our message is very much ‘don’t put your life on hold and don’t put your weight loss on lockdown’ and this is for everyone not just our members. Whilst nothing can replace our groups and the expert support received from our consultants, we want to offer support during what is a difficult time.”

Slimming World is also encouraging members to stay in touch with one another, keep up with virtual groups and attempt new and creative meals in order to stay fit in these unprecedented times.

Sue added: “Everyone’s circumstances will be different, but hopefully these are tips that will apply to most of us during these challenging times, especially when it comes to staying fit and healthy – which is more important than ever.”
