Ryan Riley, founder of Life Kitchen, has worked to help those whose taste buds have been changed to rediscover their love of food by creating dishes rich in flavour, with those who have had Covid also finding the ingredients he has brought together a help.

The Washington-born chef, who now lives in County Durham, was moved to set up the project by his mother Krista, who died aged 47, after she became ill due to cancer.

The writer and cook, who presents her own television series and has published more than a dozen of her own cookery books and is a long-term supporter of Ryan’s work.
