Slimming World suspended all meetings when lockdown began, but are now offering a virtual group to all Washington members so they can continue to benefit from sessions from the comfort and safety of their homes.

The new online sessions are helping members continue to live a fit and healthy lifestyle, in a time where it is easy to find comfort in food.

The virtual group is also providing a community for members to stay in touch with during difficult times where it easy to feel isolated or lonely.

Katherine Mason, the Washington Team Developer at Slimming World, said: “As our normal classes are suspended Slimming World is offering support to members who want to continue their weight-loss journey. We meet every week in the comfort of our own homes thanks to amazing technology.

“It’s brilliant that we can offer this service, to help bring people together, to help support and inspire each other. This has helped members be able to continue with the healthier and fitter lifestyle they have sustained whilst in groups.”

The online sessions have had 100% attendance from usual sessions, which normally take place at North Biddick Club, in Fatfield once a week.
