Washington gym owner fears for the future after sinking life savings into business - but battles on with online boot camps

Darren Tyrie, 39, worked as a personal trainer for 10 years before putting his life savings into opening the Pinch-An-Inch Body Transformation Centre and gym, but now fears for the centre’s future.

The business has been forced to completely shut down after the country was put into strict lockdown measures by the government in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

Darren is now doing everything in his power to keep the business afloat until it is able to reopen, but with the ongoing situation faces a lot of uncertainty.

He said: “We just spent our life saving adding a gym to the centre and we have been reduced to nothing. We've lost hundreds of members and have no income stream. It's extremely tough times and very sad.

“We have a strong community and are very much a social thing for a lot of our members. The Government has promised to help with a small business grant which we have applied for but as yet we have still had nothing confirmed.”

Until recently, Pinch-An-Inch Body Transformation Centre was a thriving business, adding a new gym to its facilities last year and were looking to grow and expand even more.

Since the closure, Darren has been holding online bootcamps for members and hopes he is soon able to reopen and start to build the business up once again.
