A B&Q store in Washington closed on Monday, October 12 after a member of staff tested positive for Covid-19.

A spokesperson confirmed that the store temporarily closed for deep cleaning following a team member testing positive.

The store located on Armstrong Industrial Estate reopened on Tuesday October 13.

A B&Q spokesperson said: "We can confirm that our Washington store was temporarily closed yesterday following a team member receiving a positive Covid- 19 test result.

"Closing the store for deep cleaning is a precautionary measure and goes beyond government advice.

"The store has since reopened."
