Businessmen Jason Holland and Chris Hibbert, of vehicle wrapping and vinyl graphic firm Wrap Monkey, launched a social media campaign to support those still going to work each day to carry out essential services to support the public.

Named #1stJobBack, it calls on the Wearside community to nominate a special key worker to receive a free vehicle wrap, worth around £2,000, when Wrap Monkey re-opens for business when lockdown restrictions are lifted.

Jason said: “The only thing we can do is stay at home, and I was thinking about all the people having to leave their homes, what they have got to do and how hard it must be to leave the safety of their house every day.

“What can we do to help these people?”

The Wrap Monkey team is also calling on other businesses in the local area to dedicate their #1stJobBack to a key worker and join the cause, creating a wave of positivity on social media at a time of difficulty and uncertainty.

Entries so far include frontline workers at Sunderland Royal Hospital, supermarket delivery drivers and a nurse who continues to fight the pandemic after overcoming leukaemia.

You can nominate a keyworker via the Wrap Monkey social media channels. A winner is expected to be announced on Friday, April 10.
