Here are the 'essential’ shops still open and latest opening hours at The Bridges

The Bridges shopping centre is now only open to buy essentials as part of the Government’s continued crackdown to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

The new, tighter restrictions means that only shops selling items including medical supplies and food are allowed to remain open.

The stores currently remaining open are Iceland, Boots, Tesco, Savers, Holland & Barrett, Superdrug, News and Booze, HSBC, Halifax, Virgin Money, Bargain Buys and Jacky White’s Market.

Shoppers are advised only to visit the stores if absolutely necessary and also check with the shops directly to clarify individual opening times.

“These are uncertain times and we would like to say thank you to our community for their continued support.

“We would ask shoppers coming into the centre to also observe the rules around distancing from other people, hand washing and returning home as soon as they have bought their essentials.”

The Bridges’ opening hours are now 9am to 5.30pm, Monday to Saturday, and 11am to 5pm Sunday. Late night trading on Thursdays is temporarily suspended.

The shopping centre’s multi-storey car park will also be closed, but the rooftop car park will remain open.
