Areas in Sunderland where Covid figures were still rising in the last week of March as lockdown restrictions ease

Lockdown is gradually lifting in Sunderland and across England - but there are still some areas where coronavirus cases are rising.

The latest figures show eight out of 36 neighbourhoods have seen an increase in infections in the latest seven-day period.

Now with shielding coming to an end and the stay at home message dropped, we reveal which neighbourhoods have seen the biggest rise in case rates per 100,000 people between 19 March and 26 March.

The case rate takes into account the number of people living in each area compared to the number of people who have tested positive for the virus and are measured by 100,000 people.
