Sunderland College is hosting a recruitment event for professionals who are looking to move into teaching and support roles within construction and engineering.

The event, to be held at the college’s state-of-the-art City Campus on Thursday, March 7 (5pm-7pm) will help to inspire the next generation of industry experts to become part of a dynamic team of educators and make a difference in the lives of aspiring professionals.

The college will be showcasing the teaching opportunities available to either current teaching practitioners or those currently in industry with an ambition to teach and are looking for a career change. They will also be able to engage with industry professionals and connect with experienced lecturers and managers to gain an insight into the roles and their impact.

The Construction and Building Services and Engineering departments are investing heavily to provide the latest industry facilities and resources, including the upcoming Housing Innovation Construction Skills Academy (HICSA) which is due to open in 2025, providing the latest industry relevant training and higher technical qualifications.

Simon Muschamp, Faculty Director for Construction at Sunderland College said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone who has been thinking about changing jobs or looking for new direction to join us in either our Construction or Engineering departments here at Sunderland College’s City Campus.

“Both areas are fortunate to be key strategic priorities for Sunderland and the North East and because of this, are being heavily invested in to meet that need. So please come down, to meet the teams, look at the facilities and see where a rewarding career in education could take you.”
