Primary school remains open despite positive coronavirus case

Hasting Hill Academy, on Tilbury Road in Thorney Close, said it was made aware on Monday, September 21 of the case and that they were “working with Public Health and the Department for Education”.
In a Facebook post the school said: “We have been advised by Public Health to remain open for Year 6 pupils tomorrow (September 22). There will be official correspondence sent in due course.”
Hasting Hill has been keeping parents informed.

Hide AdA later post said: “We have been informed that people would only be infectious 48 hours before testing positive.
“The pupil was absent for some of last week and so the advice from public health is that there would be minimal risk from this case due to the timescales.”
The school also confirmed that no siblings were involved.
