Where you can get Pancake Day takeouts in Sunderland topped with Maltesers, Peach Melba, Lindt and more

People usually queue round the block for Love Lily’s American-style supersize pancakes on Shrove Tuesday, which this year falls on Tuesday, February 16.

There will be strictly no walk ins this year in line with Covid restrictions, however, you can preorder treats for a collection slot on the day itself.

The tearooms in Marine Walk, Roker, has extended its opening hours for February 16 only from 9am to 9pm. There will be a choice of 10 pancakes from which to choose: Red Velvet, Maltesers, White Chocolate Snickers, Cadbury’s Cream Egg, Lindt Lindor Strawberries and Cream, Galaxy Caramel Brownie, Summer Berry Eton Mess, Marvellous Creations, White Chocolate and Raspberry Blondie and Peach Melba.

You will need to order and collect on the same day on Tel: 0191 565 6329. Payment is by card over the phone when ordering and you must observe Covid secure regulations when collecting.

In the city centre, 808 Bar & Kitchen will also be selling stacks of three American-style pancakes, priced £4.99 for classic Lemon and Sugar or £5.99 for versions topped with Kinder, Lotus Biscoff, Terry’s Chocolate Orange, Red Velvet, Milkway Mix, Strawberry and Milka White Choc.

Message their social media pages to book a slot from 11am to 9pm on Pancake Day.

Cafe YOLO in Stack Seaburn will also be flipping American-style pancakes for the big day. You can pre-order for collection from the YOLO hatch.

There’s a choice of three available, Strawberry & Nutella, Biscoffy and Banana & Honeycomb, each priced £7.95.

You can pre-order using the Stack ordering app and select a time slot. The neighbouring car park has a free grace period of 30 minutes for anyone collecting food from Stack.

If you want pancakes brought to your door on Tuesday, Port of Call in Park Lane is doing pancakes for delivery and collection from 2pm to 8pm.
