What to expect

Chaired by Alix Mackay, The Life Sciences Marketing Academy, the day kicks off with a keynote address from Sam Allen, Chief executive of the North East and North Cumbria Integrated Care Board, followed by a panel discussion looking at how far the NE has come, where it is going and covering key themes to growth in the sector in the North East: innovation, investment, skills, growth.

The panel includes Ammar Mirza, CBEDr Nicola Hutchinson Chief Executive Officer, AHSN NENC, Justyna Mysliwy Senior Director of Research, IksudaAndrea Burroughs Associate Director of Commercial Enterprise, The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Tony Wilson Head of Commercial & Innovation, NTH Solutions, North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust and Dr Arun Harish, Strategy Director, CPI.

This next session will focus on the role of digital and Health and Life Sciences and the redesign of patient pathways. Looking at the different stages of healthcare. Steve Bagshaw, from the UK Vaccines Taskforce has unique experience of Covid, and will look back on tremendous achievements, the acceleration of science and collaborative working through the pandemic, as we move closer to the 2030 UK vision.

Alongside the scientific innovation we need digital process and manufacturing, and David Berry Grand Challenge and Digital Strategy Lead, CPI, andAdeel Aslam, Technical Director, Bouygues E&S, will lead a panel discussion.

Professor Martyn Dade-Robertson Professor of Emerging Technology, Co-Director of the Hub for Biotechnology in the Built Environment,Dr Clare Winter MIEMA CEnv Senior Net Zero Programme Manager – North East & North Cumbria Integrated Care System (NENC ICS), and Chris Holt, Clean Growth Manager, NEPIC, head up a panel discussion around the environmental impacts of Life Sciences businesses and what has to be done to keep growth in the sector and ultimately help save the planet.
