Sneak peek inside Everyman Cinema as luxury screens head to Durham

Everyman Cinema is the latest new addition heading to the Milburngate leisure complex on the banks of the Wear when it opens its doors this winter.

The 39th opening for the luxury cinema, which also has a branch in Newcastle city centre, the Durham cinema will have four screens and more than 300 seats.

Visitors are able to watch films, documentaries and live screenings in plush seats and sofas for two while having food and drink delivered to their seat.

The menu includes everything from hand-stretched pizzas to small plates, including hot honey halloumi, buttermilk chicken and tempura prawns.

There is also a selection of vegan dishes available including pizza topped with chargrilled artichoke, sun dried tomato and plant-based mozzarella.

The new venue will also be operating a full bar, with speciality wine and beer, cocktails and a range of alcohol-free drinks.

And for those with a sweet tooth, there’s a range of milkshakes, freshly baked cookie dough and even the option to build your own sundae.

Mlburngate is part of a wave of investment in Durham City and and is 450,000 sq ft of mixed use development offering 230,000 sq ft grade-A office space, 153 luxury apartments, 53,000 sq ft of high-quality restaurants and bars; as well as boutique cinema and 92 bed hotel.

Everyman will join other big brands at the site including Premier Inn, Bar + Block and BrewDog, with more to be announced.
