Ramside Hall Hotel receives one-star food hygiene rating as inspectors say food safety requires 'major improvement'

Ramside Hall Hotel, Spa and Golf Club received a one-star rating by Food Standards Agency following an inspection on January 21, 2020.
The four-star hotel, in Carrville, County Durham, has seven kitchens across the premises which provide food for several different restaurants including The Rib Room, Fusion, Pemberton’s Carvery and The Clubhouse.

Hide AdInspectors say major improvement is necessary and have raised issue with food safety and the cleanliness and condition of facilities at the hotel.


The FSA scores establishments on a 0 - 5 rating, with 0 meaning urgent improvement is required and 5 meaning that hygiene standards are very good.
The brief break down of the report published on the Food Standard Agency website states that hygienic food handling is rated as generally satisfactory but that improvement in the cleanliness and condition of facilities and building as is is necessary and major improvement is needed in the management of food safety.
A spokesman for Ramside Hall Hotel said: “Following an inspection at Ramside Hall Hotel,Golf and Spa by the Environmental Health Officer, the company immediately addressed the action points and all structural works noted within the inspection.

“A second audit was then carried out by the EHO where it was confirmed that Ramside had satisfactorily undertaken all the remedial work required.
“The final audit on the premises is due to take place in the next three weeks, at which time the hotel will receive a revised hygiene rating.”
