It comes as coronavirus cases continue to rise across the North East, with figures released by Public Health England on Monday, September 21, confirming that there are now 20,75 cases in the region.

Meanwhile a number of schools and businesses across Wearside and the North East have been affected by confirmed cases of Covid-19 in recent weeks, leading to temporary full and partial closures.

Parts of the region are already under lockdown restrictions which have enforced a 10pm curfew for leisure and entertainment venues, along with tightened restrictions on social contact introduced.
