Major employer puts its weight behind the Best of Wearside Awards

An awards sponsor is looking forward to hearing all about the exceptional Wearside people who are nominated for honours.

And Director of Communications Caroline Raines explained why the company was so happy to be backing the search for Sunderland and County Durham heroes.

The awards are searching for the elite in fields such as Child of Courage, Young Voice of Wearside, Green Champion, Fundraiser of the Year, and Volunteer of the Year.

We also want to find winners in categories such as Child of Achievement, Student of the Year and Sporting Achievement of the Year.

She said: “Here in the North East there are so many shining examples of positive work in our communities that are worth shouting about. We look forward to hearing more inspirational stories of this year’s nominees doing exceptional things.”

HOW TO NOMINATE

To nominate, send your name, address and telephone number, plus your email address, if applicable. Remember to include the category you are putting your nominated cause into.

Also send the name of the person you wish to nominate, and their address, telephone number and email (if known).

Send all of that to Lynn Wild by no later than March 2. Judging will be held that same week with the finale at the Stadium of Light on Wednesday, April 1.
