The Rib Room is renowned for its steaks which are sourced from County Durham farms and matured for up to 32 days in a special meat locker.

They and the menu’s broad choice of meat, fish and vegetarian dishes – including lobster served three ways - will be served to around 2000 diners during the five week duration, with plans for the restaurant to reopen within the hotel as normal once rules are relaxed.

In addition, the hotel is erecting three gazebos near its multi-award-winning Spa at Ramside, to enable its pan-Asian Fusion restaurant to also serve diners outside while Covid rules are in place.

Fusion offers a wide menu of curries, salads, bento boxes and appetisers along with ‘from the wok’ dishes, such as pad Thai, chicken with cashew nuts,Singapore vermicelli noodles and ginger beef stir fry.

John Adamson, owner of Ramside Estates, which owns Ramside Hall Hotel, Golf and Spa, said demand is already very high from lockdown diners looking forward to eating out once again.

“There’s been a huge amount of interest and we have already taken more than 1500 advance bookings,” he said.

“It’s been a long winter and I think a lot of people have found this lockdown harder than the first.

“After months of sitting in the house they can’t wait to get dressed up, go out to a beautiful venue with their friends and family and enjoy a fantastic meal cooked by professional chefs.”
