Following the announcement on Saturday, October 31, and the agreement of MPs in the House of Commons this week, the restrictions began on Thursday, November 5 and will run until Wednesday, December 2.

They mean all non-essential retailers and services have been ordered to close, with click-and-collect services and takeaways still able to operate.

They added that some operating hours are subject to change, so customeres are advised to check with each business before heading out.

A spokesperson said: “We are following guidelines to keep staff and visitors safe, and support efforts to limit the spread of Covid-19.

"Thank you all for your patience and co-operation during this time.

"Our team will be on hand to make sure the centre remains a clean and safe place to visit.

"If you are visiting the centre, you must follow the UK Government’s rules and guidelines on good hygiene, social distancing and wearing a face covering to protect yourself and others.

“We would like to thank our fantastic team who are working very hard in very challenging circumstances, to support our retailers, serve our communities and take care of one another.

"Our thoughts are with everyone during this difficult time.
