Mandy King, Tansanity’s owner, said she hopes that the “fast-acting” precautions the business took will reassure customers – and added that she would shut for a deep clean again “if necessary”.

She told the Echo: “I believe it was very important to take the fast-acting precautions we did in closing and deep cleaning our salon as our customers’ and staff safety is paramount.

“We most certainly hope these precautionary measures will reassure our customers that we are prepared to take every measure to keep everyone safe.
