The property includes a spacious trading area with restaurant, bar and function areas, external seating, and a customer car park, plus two-bedroom accommodation.

The pub has been put on the market by specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co.

A statement on the company’s website said: “The site has limited immediate competition and offers the chance for a hospitality entrepreneur or food-led operator to bring a new lease of life and create their own thriving business in a popular residential location. The property is available on a minimum 10-year lease, on a full repairing and insuring basis.”

Marslie McGregor, Senior Business Agent – Pubs & Restaurants at Christie & Co, commented: “The Hylton Castle Arms is a landmark venue in North Hylton with a rich heritage and strong community ties. With its recent refurbishment and excellent location, it offers a superb opportunity for a new operator to create something special.”
