Final preparations are being made as a new branch of Iceland prepares to open within Sunderland’s The Range store.

The Range in Silksworth is due to open a branch of Iceland within the store next Friday, October 16.

In addition to its existing homeware items across 16 departments, with a family café and outdoor garden centre, the store will begin selling the complete Iceland offering.

This includes fresh fruit and vegetables, dairy, meat and store cupboard staples.

The Iceland refit in The Range Sunderland follows a strategic alliance formed in August 2018. The launch brings the total number of Iceland Foods across The Range estate to over 70.

Changes have also been made to other departments around the Sunderland store to make it easier for customers to shop there.

In line with current Government guidelines, additional measures are in-place to make it safe for staff and customers. These include social distancing markers to help people stay a safe distance apart, sanitising stations at the entrance and contactless card payment where possible.

Owner and Founder of The Range, Chris Dawson states: “We’re excited to expand the product offering in our Sunderland store with the addition of Iceland. I am certain that our local customers will be delighted that they can now shop their usual Range favourites and do their weekly shop for all their everyday essentials, all under one roof.”

The Range was able to open during lockdown and proved popular with shoppers.

The store’s opening hours are Monday to Saturday, from 9am to 8pm, and 10.30am to 4.30pm on Sundays.
