Family-run The Nutmeg Cafe goes on the market with a bargain price tag
The much-loved high street café may soon be changing hands as current owner Colin Henderson looks to move on to pastures new.
Currently run by Colin and his family, The Nutmeg Tree opened for business in January 2017 and has built up a great reputation with a mix of breakfast and lunch deals, coffee and cake treats, and food for special occasions.

Mr Henderson, owner of The Nutmeg Tree, said: “Running a cafe is very rewarding, although it can be stressful at times! On the high street it feels like you’re always at the centre of things and we’ve grown up with some very loyal customers.
“I’d always dreamed of running a café like this and I’d absolutely recommend it to anyone thinking about taking on a hospitality business of their own. I’m confident that the next owners can take the café on and develop it for the benefit of the local community.”
Gareth Smyth, CEO of Hilton Smythe Group, said: “The Nutmeg Tree has a great reputation and is ideally located on the high street. Everything is there for a new operator to move in and start trading quickly.

Lockdown brought some uncertainty, but the late summer re-ignition of the economy, and particularly hospitality businesses, has shown would-be entrepreneurs that the British appetite for eating out together will hold steady.
“I wish Mr Henderson and his family the best and we’re looking forward to introducing new owners at this cosy high street café.”
