South Shields-based Taste Club Ltd have teamed up with independent producers to provide artisan drinks box deliveries of either gin, rum or vodka – and we have a box, worth £40, to give away.

Each box contains a craft spirit paired with mixers, recipes and nibbles to enjoy alongside it. The winner can choose a box of their choice which will be delivered anywhere in the North East.

Business partners Georga Spottiswood, who also runs Savour magazine, and Valda Goodfellow of tableware supplier Goodfellow and Goodfellow, came up with the idea of the boxes before lockdown but decided that, as there’s an increase in demand for comforts at home, now would be the perfect time to launch.

The first editions of the boxes, which will feature different producers each edition, include Darlington-distilled Quaker Gin, Durham Vodka and Holy Island spiced rum.

Georga said: “Anyone can buy spirits and snacks in a supermarket, but you’ll not find these drinks in them, or the local shops. These are the small players, the independents and the new kids on the block when it comes to seriously good spirits – and we want to educate people’s palates about them.”

To be in with a chance of winning, answer this question: which Northumberland-made spirit features in the Taste Club Ltd boxes?
