1. The Ship Isis, Silksworth Row
Recently taken over by the team behind the city's popular Mexico 70, The Ship Isis is one of Sunderland's best-preserved historic pubs - with an excellent choice of real ale. 2. The Promenade, Seaburn
A prime seafront location and a cracking atmosphere make 'The Prom' one of Sunderland's best-loved pubs. It also has the bonus of an outdoor seating area when it reopens its doors. Photo: Google maps
3. The Saltgrass, Deptford
The Saltgrass has done an excellent job of adapting its offering during lockdown, offering takeaway mini casks and cocktail jars. Expect a new exterior colour scheme and more outdoor seating when its loyal regulars return. Photo: JPI Media
