As part of our ongoing #SupportLocal campaign, we’ve rounded up some of the ways to have a frightfully good time this year, from following the Mackem Monster Hunt to tucking into some creepy cupcakes.
5. Flower pumpkins, Secret Garden Sunderland
Sunderland-based florists Secret Garden are making flower pumpkins to order. They're priced £15 and you can DM them on Instagram "secretgardensunderland", Tel: 07980 958337 or email [email protected] Photo: submitted
6. The Big Neighbourhood Pumpkin Trail
Fiona Simpson, who runs Artventurers, has launched The Big Neighbourhood Pumpkin Trail and more than 31,000 people have already signed up. The idea involves people creating pumpkins to put in their windows. Instead of Trick or Treating, children can go out and spot as many pumpkins as possible in their neighbourhood. To find out more, visit the The Big Neighbourhood Pumpkin Trail! page on Facebook. Photo: submitted
7. Creepy cupcakes, Love Lily, Roker
Love Lily has sold more than 200 of its pre-order Halloween treat boxes, but they're also offering lots of treats in store on October 30 and 31 with themed cupcakes, cake slices, cheesecakes and more. They are offering a £10 treat box in which people can choose their own selection of treats - as well as £10 creepy cupcake boxes (pictured). Photo: submitted
8. Make a Halloween window display, Sunderland Museum & Winter Gardens
Head to the Pottery Gallery at Sunderland Museum on Friday, October 30 from 1-2pm and 3-4pm where you can print your own spooktacular window decoration for Halloween inspired by creepy creatures in the Museum collections. Bats, cats or pumpkins, the choice is yours! Book a table for your family bubble, with a maximum of 5 people (including children) per bubble. The cost is £3 per family bubble including one child / £6 per family bubble including 2 or more children. All children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Photo: JPI Media
