808 Bar and Kitchen in Sunderland were greeted by some unwanted guests yesterday morning after two men dressed in fluorescent hi-vis jackets broke into the eatery.
In a statement on Facebook, owners said they found one part of the duo asleep in the toilets four hours after entering the building, alongside a Henry Hoover and a slice of cheesecake.

"Making our way to the toilets, the noise continued on and on, until we opened the toilet foyer door and there he was, our very own Sleeping Beauty.”
The pair, who broke in around 6.15am on Saturday, October 24, stacked a cleaners mop with beer, cider and soft drinks before slapping a half-eaten cheesecake on top.
One of the culprits made a dash at 2am, leaving the other to be found by owners asleep in the bathroom.

In a statement on Facebook, 808 Bar and Restaurant, who are currently closed for eat in service said: “We realise the festive season is fast approaching but we certainly didn’t expect our very own ‘Wet Bandits’ to walk through the doors, not least for a cheesecake and a kip on the toilet floor.
"All jokes aside, in situations like these it’s frustrating to think that these scumbags are breaking into people’s businesses when times are already hard enough in the current climate.
"To finish we would just like to remind people that we are still open for tapas takeaway from 5pm and would like to thank all our customers for the continued support.
