9. 9 to 5 the musical, November 9-13
Starring Louise Redknapp, Dolly Parton’s rip-roaring musical comes to Sunderland Empire direct from 5-star reviews and sold-out audiences in the West End. 9 to 5 the Musical tells the story of three workmates pushed to boiling point by their sexist and egotistical boss. 10. The Rocket Man, November 28
Entertainers are proud to present The Rocket Man: a tribute to Multi-Grammy award-winning legend and superstar, Sir Elton John. Join them on a musical journey, charting the rise to fame of one of the biggest selling artiste of all time. 11. The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe
Direct from London, the acclaimed production of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe is coming to Sunderland. Step through the wardrobe this winter into the magical kingdom of Narnia for the most mystical of adventures in a faraway land. Join Lucy, Edmund, Susan and Peter as they wave goodbye to wartime Britain and say hello to a talking Faun, an unforgettable Lion and the coldest, cruellest White Witch. 12. Snow White, December 10 - January 2
The panto will make a return this year with North East Queen of comedy, Miss Rory (aka Dan Cunningham) who will star as the hilarious Nurse Rorina, and South Shields comic Tom Whalley, as the side splitting Muddles the Jester in the canniest panto of them all – Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs.
