10 bar, cafe and retail job vacancies in Sunderland and South Tyneside as hospitality businesses reopen after lockdown
With the hospitality and retail sectors getting back up and running, various new roles are becoming available to those seeking employment.
All non-essential shops reopened last month and pubs and restaurants across England were allowed to open their doors once again on Saturday, July 4
But the coronavirus lockdown has impacted many jobs across the country with the Social Mobility Foundation predicting unemployment rates could increase by 1.5 million due to the crisis, leaving a total of 2.9 million people out of work across the UK.
Here are 10 new hospitality and retail job vacancies across Wearside and South Tyneside:
Bar Team Member – Washington Arms – Washington, NE38 7AB
The Washington Arms is looking for a permanent bar team member following its reopening.
Prior experience is not necessary but excellent communication skills, being a great team player and able to work under pressure unsupervised are vital.

Bar Team Member – Grey Horse – East Boldon, NE36 0SJ
A similar position is available at the Grey Horse pub in East Boldon.
Again, prior experience is not essential but a strong work ethic and understanding of customer needs are important.
Customer Assistant (part-time) – Lidl – Sunderland, SR5 3FF
Lidl is looking for a part-time customer assistant to work at its North Hylton Road store in Sunderland.
Part-time hours are between 10 - 30 hours per-week and ‘as a Customer Assistant at Lidl, no shift is the same and you get out what you put in,’ says the Lidl website.
Salary: £9.30 up to £10.50 per hour depending on experience.
Customer Service Assistant – One Stop (Tesco) – Washington, NE37 2TE
