The start of July saw the biggest easing of lockdown measures to date as key parts of the hospitality and tourism sectors started to reopen. Museums are also now permitted to reopen their doors, along with other recreational activities. Several popular tourist sites remain closed in the city, while others are open or planning on reopening in the near future. Here are the top 10 things to do in Sunderland based on Tripadvisor reviews:
1. Roker and Seaburn Beaches
A trip to the beach is a simple but effective plan for a day out, weather permitting, and after a brief closure at the beginning of lockdown, people are now free to enjoy our beautiful coastline as much as they like. Just make sure you tidy up after yourself and respect social distancing measures!
