Sunderland singer from Dr Feelgood preparing for North East show

Robert Kane has been performing with Dr Feelgood for 20 years, after the band formed in Canvey Island in Essex in the early 1970s. Soon after their formation, the band released album Stupidity, which reached No 1 in the UK.
Dr Feelgood have also enjoyed global success with a string of singles including Roxette, Back in the Night, Milk and Alcohol, Down at the Doctors, She Does it Right, Going Back Home and See You Later Alligator - which gave the group their first Gold record.

Hide AdThe last album to feature former singer Lee Brilleaux, Down at the Doctors was recorded live at the Dr. Feelgood Music Bar on Canvey Island, just two months before he died.
The current line up features the rhythm section Kevin Morris on drums and Phil Mitchell on bass, both 37 years in the band and Steve Walwyn on guitar who has been with the band for more than 30 years. Robert Kane (formerly of The Animals) is the most recent addition – now celebrating 20 years in 2019.
In the Autumn of 2018 , Dr. Feelgood supported The Stranglers for their UK tour and in 2020 the band set off for a series of European dates.
