National Trust's Gibside gardens to light up this winter for new visitor attraction

The beautiful gardens of the 18th century Georgian property, near Rowlands Gill, Gateshead, will be lit once twilights falls.

Visitors can expect the unexpected with fairies dancing in the trees, fiery fish and woodland wildlife sculpted in willow as they stroll beside the Grand Avenue into an enchanting landscape filled with wonder.

Lit by lanterns, wander between flickering flames and beside stately majestic trees from one amazing space to another.

The hour-long discovery trail has been specially designed for visitors of all ages to enjoy.

The National Trust Gibside offers more than 600 acres of woodland and countryside, complete with a tree-lined avenue, Neo-classical Chapel and orangery sitting amongst the designed landscape.

The IGNITE trails are being presented by leading events promoter Raymond Gubbay and created by Culture Creative.

IGNITE Gibside takes place on selected days between December 11-30.
