THE Customs House, South Shields, has unveiled the comedy line-up for its Edinburgh Preview Show.

Taking place on Sunday, July 31, the show will see performances by two comedians who are heading north to the famous Scottish festival in August.

Once again it is being promoted in association with The Grinning Idiot Comedy Club.

Grinning Idiot’s John Smith, said: “I’m delighted that once again we will be returning to The Customs House.

“It’s a fantastic venue and ideal for a great night of comedy.”

Following his hugely-successful debut at the theatre in April, Hebburn born Jason Cook makes a highly anticipated and welcome return to the stage with his show The Search For Happiness.

Cook has enjoyed huge-critical acclaim over the last few years and his performances at all the major UK and International Comedy Festivals has seen him become one of the brightest talents on the circuit.

Joining him on the bill is Kai Humphries who will perform his show Bare-Faced Cheek.

Described as “high-octane and hilariously infectious” he is widely regarded by the comedy scene as Newcastle’s brightest new star.

Marketing and programming manager Tim Flood, said: “As with all our comedy nights it is strongly recommended that you book your tickets in advance and they are selling very quickly.

“We have only just reintroduced comedy into our schedule and in the five months it’s been with us we have built up a fantastic audience base.

“The line-ups get better and better every time and it’s certainly something that will continue to thrive here at The Customs House.”

He added: “Lots of the acts have contacted us to say they love performing here and I am delighted that Jason Cook has accepted the invitation to return – he was a huge success here in April.”
