FROM EastEnders to the East Stand – panto star Matt Lapinskas has been getting familiar with his festive home.
Matt, who played Anthony Moon in the BBC One soap, will be spending the next month on Wearside as he stars in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
After hearing he was a huge football fan, SAFC invited him along to Wednesday’s match – a 4-1 defeat to Manchester City – and presented him with a personalised shirt.
Matt, who was runner-up in the eighth series of Dancing on Ice, said: “It was a fantastic experience, a great stadium with a great atmosphere. It was just a massive shame about the result. I’d like to say a big thank you to Sunderland AFC for their hospitality.”
Rehearsals are in full swing for Snow White, which also stars Hi-De-Hi’s Su Pollard and Andrew Agnew from Balamory.
Matt said: “It’s a great script. It’s got some good little puns in there about Dancing on Ice and EastEnders. It’s got some innuendo in there for the parents and some good gags for the kids.”
The show will run at the Sunderland Empire from December 12 to January 4.
