STARS of BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing, Vincent Simone and Flavia Cacace, are bringing their Olivier-nominated show Midnight Tango back to the region.
They will be hot stepping it to the Theatre Royal in Newcastle next spring as part of their final tour.
Produced by Arlene Phillips and Adam Spiegel, Midnight Tango is set in a late-night bar in downtown Buenos Aires, and brings to life all the drama, sensuality and elegance of the tango.
Former World Champions Vincent and Flavia, are once again joined on stage by some of the finest tango dancers in the world.
The show opened to rave reviews in London in January, and went on to accumulate knock-out sales on its two UK tours. It was a sell-out when it came to Newcastle Theatre Royal in April, and box office sales for this, the third and final tour (including the Newcastle leg) are expected to go the same way.
Arlene Phillips: “Vincent and Flavia are outstanding and, together with the brilliant company, make this a must-see show.”
Vincent said: “We are thrilled to be performing Midnight Tango. It’s a dream come true and we are both overwhelmed with how the show has been received. We are very much looking forward to starting a third national tour.”
Midnight Tango is directed by Olivier Award-winning choreographer Karen Bruce, who has choreographed for both Strictly Come Dancing and So You Think You Can Dance on BBC 1.
The live music is provided by top tango band, Tango Siempre, featuring vocalist Miguel Angel.
