A NORTH-East theatre is transporting audiences back to the swinging 60s next month.

New Jersey Nights, a celebration of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, is bound for Newcastle Theatre Royal as part of a worldwide tour.

Direct from the USA, the international smash hit show takes the audience on a nostalgic musical journey through the career of one of the biggest-selling groups of all time.

The award-winning production takes you to the back street studio in New Jersey where it all began.

It follows the group on their journey to become one of the most successful recording acts in pop history, with more than 100million albums sold and 71 chart hits – including 40 in the Top 40, 19 in the Top 10 and eight No. 1s.

The Vocal Group Hall of Fame said that The Four Seasons was the most popular rock band before the Beatles. In 1960, the group, known as the Four Lovers evolved into the Four Seasons, with Frankie Valli as the lead singer, Bob Gaudio (formerly of the Royal Teens) on keyboards and tenor vocals, Tommy DeVito on lead guitar and baritone vocals, and Nick Massi on bass guitar and bass vocals.

They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990 and joined the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 1999.

Harmonies from Damion Scarcella, Simon Schofield, Jon Hawkins and Ricky Rojas bring to life the very best of The Four Seasons including: Sherry, Rag Doll, Can’t Take My Eyes Off You, Big Girls Don’t Cry, Walk Like a Man and Oh, What a Night.

New Jersey Nights has smashed box office records across the USA and UK and is proving to be one of the most successful touring shows of all times.
