EastEnders actor Matt Lapinskas to star in Sunderland Empire panto

FROM EastEnders to High Street West – actor Matt Lapinskas will take centre stage at this year’s pantomime.

It’s been announced today that the former EastEnders actor and Dancing on Ice runner-up will play the Prince in Snow White at the Sunderland Empire.

He’ll join Su Pollard, as the Wicked Queen, and Balamory’s PC Plum, actor Andrew Agnew, as Muddles the Jester, in the family favourite for its three-week run.

Matt is best-known for playing Anthony Moon in EastEnders and was runner up in the eighth series of Dancing on Ice, skating his way to the 2013 finals.

Ahead of pantomime season in Sunderland, the actor is set to embark on a national tour of Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat playing the role of Pharaoh from July to November.

Sunderland Empire general manager Ben Phillips said: “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is set to be another spectacular pantomime for the whole family to enjoy this year.

“We are delighted to announce that joining panto legend Su Pollard and CBeebies’ Andrew Agnew for a magical pantomime season in Sunderland will be EastEnders and Dancing on Ice star, Matt Lapinskas.”

The producers behind this year’s show are Martin Dodd for UK Productions, the company behind last year’s Cinderella and 2012’s Peter Pan.
