Britain’s Got Talent finalist Lucy Kay is set to join Joe McElderry in the UK tour of a hit musical.
Lucy, who was runner-up to classical boyband Collabro in 2014, will be starring as the Narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
Lucy scored her first No 1 album in 2014, after her debut Fantasia shot straight to the top of the Classical Album Chart.
She’ll star along 24-year-old Joe, from Westoe, South Shields, who stormed to victory on the X Factor in 2009.
He recently took on the eponymous role in The Who’s rock opera Tommy at Blackpool Opera House and has spent the festive season starring panto Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, in Hull, as the Spirit of the Mirror.
Having garnered sensational reviews and standing ovations at every performance since its inception almost 35 years ago, Bill Kenwright’s production of this family musical has now sold an estimated 20 million tickets.
This vibrant and exciting retelling of the biblical story about Joseph, his eleven brothers and the coat of many colours sings out to young and old alike with a score which is crammed wall to wall with hits, including Jacob and Sons, Close Every Door and Any Dream Will Do.
The show runs at the Sunderland Empire from May 31 to June 4.
