A Wearside performer who’s appeared on the West End stage is limbering up for her next challenge.
Hollie Creighton, 12, from Ford Estate, won rave reviews during her nine-month stint as Debbie in Billy Elliot at London’s Victoria Palace Theatre.
Now the talented dancer is hoping to leap her way to the finals of the national Teen Star talent contest.
After impressing judges at North East auditions, Hollie is through to the Northern finals of the competition and is hoping to make it all the way the grand final in London, where she could scoop a sponsorship deal with a major dancewear supplier and a promotional video.
Proud mum Muriel said: “She got great feedback from the judges at the first audition which was held in Newcastle. She did a vampire dance and is preparing a lyrical dance for the next audition, which takes place in Dewsbury.
“She adores being on stage, especially dancing, she never stops. She wants to turn the shed into her own dance studio.”
Speaking about the St Anthony’s schoolgirl’s time in Billy Elliot, Muriel said: “It was an unbelievable experience and she loved every minute of it.”
