The magic of the ballroom is coming to the North East for two Strictly fab-u-lous shows.

The Gala Theatre in Durham is preparing to host two star-studded shows staged by some of Strictly Come Dancing's brightest stars.

Giovanni Pernice, who is currently partnered with Steps star Faye Tozer, will bring his mesmerising Dance is Life tour to the venue on March 21.

He will be joined by Luba Mushtuk, one of the show's newest professionals, as his leading lady.

Dance is Life will be choreographed by Jason Gilkison, Strictly's creative director.

Giovanni has reached the final of Strictly twice - in 2015 with Coronation Street actress Georgia May Foote and last year with Debbie McGee.

Ian Waite and Vincent Simone are also bringing their latest show to Durham.

Faye, who lives in West Boldon, is one of this series' favourites to reach the final. She's been near the top of the leaderboard most weeks.

Later in the year, show favourites Ian Waite and Vincent Simone will entertain audiences with their new production, The Ballroom Boys.

The night promises dancing, singing and banter as the pair are accompanied by two female professionals and an enchanting singer too.

The following year, he came third with Zoe Ball.

Vincent Simone's highest place in the competition was second, with S Club 7 star Rachel Stevens in 2008.
