Sunderland deathcore band Nexilva return to home shores for a gig at Independent, in Holmeside, tonight, following recent festival appearances in Germany.

James Monteith, of Metal Hammer, has said of them: “Not for the faint-hearted, Nexilva play death metal with a top-notch technical flair and progressive arrangements, and boast a whole host of layers.”

The five-piece outfit have been around for a number of years now, but haven’t just stayed local, unlike many others.

They’ve toured the UK for years, even branching out into Europe, including their most recent visit to Cologne.

Support on the night comes from local bands Beyond Absolution and Armaros.

Doors open at 8pm.

Entry is free.
