A QUARTET of Seaham songwriters will be raising the roof at a new town venue.
This Little Bird, Marc Oliver, Ani Sandwith and Michael Blackwell, who all hail from Seaham Harbour, will be taking to the stage at Seaham Town Hall next week.
The new venue, formerly the Red Star Club in Town Park, is giving the talented musicians the chance to perform in their home town for the first time.
Marc Oliver said: “Seaham is rife with creative people doing a lot of really great things. This night is set up to showcase a small selection of the huge talent that exists within the town and deliver it right to people’s doorsteps.
“It’s an opportunity for people to enjoy the festive period in a unique way by attending the kind of event that doesn’t happen often in Seaham.”
Performing at the event will be melodic folk songstress This Little Bird (Rebecca Young) who recently supported Laura Viers on her Newcastle tour date back in October; Marc Oliver who has been playing gigs all across the country to promote his new release Our Fleeting Time and Ani Sandwith, who will be performing on the back of her EP release of Things We Have To Do.
Michael Blackwell will complete the line up. He recently released his debut album Brave New Soul, which was recorded with producer Paul Frost in London.
The gig will take place at Seaham Town Hall on December 23. Doors open at 7.30pm. Tickets are £4 in advance.
They can be purchased online by searching Seaham Songwriters at www.wegottickets.com or contact Seaham Town Hall on Tel. 581 8034.
