Tribute show Limehouse Lizzy will rock South Tyneside this week.
Renowned for their action-packed shows, Limehouse Lizzy will be performing the iconic rock songs of Philip Lynott and his band Thin Lizzy, at The Customs House in South Shields tomorrow.
This year is the 45th anniversary of Thin Lizzy’s formation and also would have marked frontman Phil Lynott’s 65th birthday.
The Customs House executive director Ray Spencer, said: “Limehouse Lizzy are one of our most popular tribute acts around.
“The feedback we receive from our audiences is always fantastic, so we’re delighted to welcome the group back to The Customs House in 2014.”
Limehouse Lizzy have received international recognition having headlined at a music festival in Greece, as well as the Virgin Atlantic music festival in Barbados.
The band’s Into the Limelight tour was developed to tie-in with their appearance on a BBC2 documentary and they are now ready to rock stages across Europe.
The show will feature Celtic-inspired hits including Black Rose and Whiskey in the Jar, as well as classics including the famous single The Boys are Back in Town, which launched Thin Lizzy’s global success.
The Customs House marketing co-ordinator Ali Brown, said: “Limehouse Lizzy’s attention to detail and audience interaction is astounding, so much so that their tribute is practically the real thing.
“We can’t wait to have them back with us.
“It’s going to be a great show, as always.” l Tickets for Limehouse Lizzy are £15 in advance and £16.50 on the door and are available from The Customs House box office on 454 1234 or online at www.customshouse.co.uk.
