CORNER Flag has confirmed a packed line up of live music.
Highlights at the High Street West bar include a set by The Sherlocks on April 25. The rock/indie outfit is tipped for the top and will stop off in Sunderland as part of a national tour ahead of a single release.
They’ve worked alongside musicians such as Tom Hingley from Inspiral Carpets, Simon Townshend and Steve Craddock from Ocean Colour Scene and have also provided support to bands such as Twisted Wheel, The Buzzcocks, Reverend & The Makers, The Enemy, Scouting for Girls and Simple Minds.
They will be supported by three local acts, Dec & Wayne, Purple Groove and The Face.

Meanwhile, tonight sees the launch of a new rock night that will run every Thursday from 7pm till 5am. The night will incorporate a mixture of live music acts, a music quiz, DJ sets and more.
The acts lined up to perform at the rock night are:

•February 12 – Masamune, Warning! and Peter Carmody
•February 19 – Black Atom Movement, Hawkeye, Nic Wood and Ben Punshon
•February 26 – Black Goose, Steven Brunton, Real Gone
Aside from the rock nights, there are a host of other gigs taking place throughout the month. They are:
•Saturday – Phase – a Newcastle-based post rock progressive punk quartet.
•February 14 – Stiletto Farm – a rock ‘n’ roll trio playing on the back of releasing their debut album January Sales.
•February 21 – Kamikaze Girls – a Leeds-based trio known for alternative grunge tracks.
•February 28 – Fighting Caravans – a Leeds act returning to the venue on a national tour to promote their new single.
