NEW kid on the block Infiltrate is hoping to plug a gap in Sunderland’s music scene.
Featuring house, deep house and techno, the next event will take place on Saturday, July 23, after a successful launch party last month attracted a capacity crowd.
It will take place in the backroom at Independent, on Holmeside, from 11pm to 4.30am and includes sets from local DJs David Little and David Vaughan.
Creator and resident DJ Greg Simpson said: “Sunderland’s music scene is predominantly based around bands and rock music.
“Yet there is a strong crowd of people who travel to Ibiza year in and year out who love techno and house music.
“Infiltrate is trying to fill that gap.”
He added: “The preparation, promotion and planning for the night is hard work and very time consuming and the event would not be possible without help from friends and fellow resident DJs Marty Foster and Andy Cuthbertson.
“The night has massive potential. In August we are looking to book an International DJ to play and establish the event.”
