A Big Band is returning to the stage for a gig with a difference.
The Customs House Big Band will perform at the South Shields venue on November 6 – and the audience will be choosing the night’s programme.
The North East jazz orchestra, with its award-winning singer, Ruth Lambert, will be presenting a programme of swing music chosen entirely by the audience.
In a departure from the norm, people book their tickets and are given a comprehensive list of titles from the band’s extensive repertoire of swing music, including vocals, including the music of Miller, Basie, Ellington and many others.
The audience then submit their choices and musical director Peter Morgan builds the programme with the selection of the most chosen titles.
Peter said: “This is an exciting change from the normal procedure and the musicians are looking forward to presenting a foot tapping programme which is entirely chosen by its audience.”
The concert takes place on Friday, November 6 at 7.45pm at the Customs House, Mill Dam, South Shields.
